Kick Jazz in Vienna is an annual two-day event celebrating contemporary Austrian jazz and emerging talent in the local scene. It takes place each December at the renowned jazz club Porgy & Bess and is presented by Austrian Music Export in cooperation with the club.
Started in 2016 to promote up-and-coming jazz musicians from Austria, Kick Jazz has grown into an important showcase festival where selected ensembles and artists perform a wide range of jazz styles — from structured improvisation and free jazz to cross-genre and experimental sounds.
The festival also invites international promoters, bookers and festival organizers to discover new talent and help Austrian acts gain exposure beyond Austria.
